SAP learning is a digital learning platform created by Tangent in collaboration with SAP, a multinational software company that also deals in creating ERP softwares. The platform was developed to transform SAP’s internal learning and development program which offer various courses including the SAP S/4HANA Cloud their modular ERP solution, they deliver high quality learning experiences to their employees. Through SAP Learning, employees are able to access a wide range of learning resources and tools to improve their skills, knowledge, and performance. The platform has helped SAP to achieve better learning outcomes and improve employee engagement, showcasing Tangent’s expertise in developing innovative digital solutions and robust ERP Systems.

Challenges

  • The SAP website had a structure with multiple sections, pages, and interactive elements. Testing each component thoroughly to ensure proper functionality and user experience was a significant challenge for us.

  • The SAP website needed to be compatible with various web browsers and operating systems, testing and validating the website’s performance and appearance on different browsers and versions was a challenge to ensure consistent functionality.

  • We faced the challenge of thoroughly testing the website’s responsiveness and ensuring that content and features were appropriately displayed on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • Another challenge we encountered was working with cross-functional teams, requiring efficient communication and ensuring timely resolution of issues and blockers.

  • Our team faced the continuous challenge of performing regression testing. This was crucial to verify that new updates did not introduce unexpected issues or conflicts.

  • The development of the SAP Learning platform aimed to cater to the diverse learning needs of employees across the globe. Therefore, it was imperative for us to ensure that the platform’s content and interface were localized, providing users with a seamless experience in their preferred language.

  • A significant challenge encountered during testing was ensuring seamless payment processing across different regions and payment methods. Since SAP Learning was designed to cater to a global audience, it was imperative to verify that users could process payments regardless of their location and the payment cards they use. This required extensive testing and meticulous attention to detail to ensure that the payment processes were secure and reliable, providing a smooth user experience for all users.

Solution & Strategy

  • To encounter the complex structure of the website, we developed a comprehensive test strategy for testing each component of the website, including sections, pages, and interactive elements, to ensure they functioned properly and provided a positive user experience.

  • We conducted extensive testing on various web browsers and operating systems to ensure the website performed consistently across different platforms.

  • We performed extensive testing  for proper layout, alignment, and functionality across various screen sizes and resolutions to ensure that it displayed correctly and provided an optimal user experience on different devices, including desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • We implemented a robust issue tracking and collaboration system to efficiently manage reported issues. This involved using project management tools, bug tracking software, and effective communication channels to document, prioritize, and assign issues to the development team.

  • We conducted comprehensive regression testing to identify and address any issues or conflicts that may arise due to frequent updates or changes to the website’s content and functionality. This involved retesting previously validated features and functionalities to ensure they continued to work correctly without any unintended side effects.

  • For seamless payment processing, we devised a comprehensive payment testing strategy. This included testing different payment methods, such as credit cards, digital wallets, and bank transfers, across various regions. We validated the end-to-end payment flow, ensuring secure transactions, reliable payment gateway integrations, and compliance with relevant regulations.

In conclusion, we played a crucial role in ensuring the success of SAP project by identifying and addressing potential issues, improving the overall quality of the website, and enhancing the user experience. Throughout the project, we faced various challenges, such as testing complex functionalities, ensuring compatibility across platforms, addressing security concerns, and validating third-party integrations.  we implemented effective strategies and solutions to overcome all these challenges.

Our team conducted comprehensive testing, which revealed that the new SAP Learning platform offers a significantly faster experience to end-users. According to the key page quality metrics from Lighthouse, the platform has shown a 46% improvement in its base level performance score. Additionally, the team achieved a 10% increase in the Best Practices score, a 22% improvement in the Accessibility score, and an 11% boost to the SEO score.
