Project Overview
Jägermeister is a German herbal liqueur made from 56 different herbs, fruits, roots, and spices. It was created in 1935 by Curt Mast and gained popularity in Germany in the 1950s and 1960s. Jägermeister is known for its iconic logo featuring a stag with a glowing cross between its antlers, and is typically served chilled either neat or in a shot glass. It has become a common ingredient in cocktails, including the popular Jägerbomb. The brand has expanded its product line to include new flavours and has sponsored various music festivals and events around the world.
Challenges
- Some of the challenges that we faced as a QA team while performing our responsibilities in a project like Jägermeister included managing and tracking a large volume of bugs and issues in JIRA, ensuring effective communication with the development team, managing tight timelines and competing priorities, and keeping up with changes to the project requirements and specifications.
- Additionally, performing load testing and accessibility testing on lower environments presented unique challenges, such as ensuring accurate and consistent results across different environments and configurations.
- While testing the Jägermeister website, we had to prepare a regression suite as per the build confirmation and perform smoke and sanity checks on the UAT environment.
- It was important for the QA tester to have strong attention to detail, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in order to effectively overcome these challenges and deliver a high-quality product.
Solution and Strategy
- The team showcased their exceptional skills and knowledge by creating a detailed and comprehensive Test Suite and Test Cases providing a solid foundation for the product’s quality assurance process. Their meticulous approach and attention to detail resulted in a robust testing framework, ensuring the product met the highest standards of quality and performance.
- By taking on the challenge of testing website compatibility with different browsers, the team ensured that users had access to the website regardless of the browser they were using.
- Our QA team was proactive in building components and performing testing on different pages, ensuring quality was maintained throughout the Jagermesiter project.
- The team’s unparalleled assistance in aiding the Contentful CMS by uploading content on UAT was an invaluable contribution, enabling the project to be delivered smoothly and successfully. Their support was instrumental in ensuring that the project was executed flawlessly and met all the required objectives. The team’s dedication and expertise were essential in achieving this crucial milestone, and their commitment to excellence was commendable.
Conclusion
- Our QA team for the Jägermeister project performed Smoke and Sanity tests on all environments, tracked bugs using JIRA, and performed regression testing with a focus on finding critical bugs. We also completed scripting sub-tasks, load testing, and accessibility testing on lower environments.
- We collaborated with the Development Team and participated in Sprint Review meetings to complete all tasks efficiently. Our efforts resulted in identifying and resolving critical bugs, ensuring a high-quality final product.
- Overall, we are proud of the work we accomplished as a QA team on this project and believe that our contributions played an important role in ensuring its success. We look forward to applying the skills and knowledge we gained from this experience to future projects.
