Supercell, a renowned gaming company, initiated the Rogue project to assess the functionality of their upcoming game, Mo Co, through a web application hosted on their official website. The primary objective was to create a closed beta release environment where users could sign up, watch promotional videos, and access useful information about the game. As the QA lead for this project, the focus was on ensuring a seamless and high-quality user experience on both desktop and mobile platforms.

Challenges

• New Features Implementation: Testing the website for newly implemented features like carousel sliders and parallax design effects, ensuring they function correctly.

• Cross-Platform Compatibility: Ensuring consistent performance across different browsers and devices, including desktop and mobile.

• User Input Handling: Verifying the website’s ability to accept multiple entries of the same email address, a specific requirement for the closed beta release.

• Beta Information Accuracy: Ensuring the correctness of beta information, particularly considering potential changes for the USA.

• Content and Language Consistency: Confirming that the website’s content was accurate, consistent, and clear, particularly for the English-only launch.

Solution & Strategy

• Functional Testing: Conducted thorough testing of website features, including CTAs, the parallax design effect, and the carousel slider, to ensure correct functionality.

• Cross-Platform Compatibility Testing: Executed tests across various browsers and devices to guarantee a consistent performance level.

• User Flow Testing: Checked the user journey for a smooth and intuitive experience, ensuring users could seamlessly navigate from landing on the site to signing up for the beta or downloading the game.

• Link Validation: Verified that CTAs directed users to the correct app stores for downloading the beta and ensured all website links were correctly pointed as provided by the client.

• Content and Language Testing: Confirmed that the website’s content was accurate, consistent, and clear, considering the initial launch in English only.

• Carousel Slider Testing: Ensured the carousel slider functioned seamlessly, especially regarding the endless scroll, a new feature for the template.
