Project Overview
The Nike 10K Marathon event in Dubai, UAE is a Tier 1 running event that allows runners to participate in a 10K marathon. As part of Nike’s marketing campaign, the event was used for two years, promoting the top-of-the-range Nike RFID shoes, Nike Sports Watches, Nike Fuel bands, and apparel. As a QA team working on the Nike – We run the DXB project, our main responsibility was to ensure that the event’s website was fully functional and user-friendly. We tested the website’s design, layout, and features to ensure that they worked seamlessly on all devices and platforms.
Challenges
- The Nike We Run DXB website presented a challenging project for the QA team. They had to ensure the website’s optimal performance across various devices and operating systems, given the complexity of its technology. The QA team developed a comprehensive strategy to test all possible scenarios and ensure the website functioned as expected.
- The main challenge was testing and validating the user journeys and flow of the Nike RUN DXB campaign. This involved verifying that participants could easily register, access relevant information, track their progress, and interact with campaign features smoothly.
- To ensure compatibility, the QA team conducted rigorous testing on different operating systems, browsers, and screen sizes. They also tested the website’s performance in low network connectivity scenarios, ensuring that users could access the website seamlessly in any environment.
- As the website catered to athletes of all levels, the QA team paid special attention to testing its functionality in various scenarios. This included testing the website’s response time when multiple users were accessing it simultaneously, ensuring that it could handle heavy traffic and deliver a smooth user experience.
- The QA team’s dedication and expertise in testing the Nike We Run DXB website played a critical role in ensuring its functionality, compatibility, and user-friendliness. As a result, the Nike We Run DXB website became a reliable resource for athletes seeking superior cushioning and support during intense physical activities.
Solution & Strategy
- For the Nike We Run DXB campaign project, our team had a comprehensive test plan and strategy in place to ensure the success of the event. Firstly, we procured the necessary hardware, including RFID tag embedded trainers and an iPhone/iPad connection bay for data syncing.
- We then developed a detailed test strategy to test the RFID data and created test cases for all stories in Testpad. This allowed us to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data collected from the RFID tags during the event.
- A regression testing plan was put in place as the campaign progressed, and updates and changes were made to the website or app.
- Overall, our solution and strategy ensured that the Nike We Run DXB campaign was a success, with accurate data collection, easy registration, and personalized training plans for participants.
- Thanks to our meticulous testing approach and unwavering dedication, the Nike – We Run DXB website was able to provide a seamless user experience with a responsive design of the highest quality, across all devices and platforms.
Conclusion
- After completing our testing of the Nike – We Run DXB website, we can confidently conclude that the website meets all requirements and specifications set forth by Nike. Our QA team performed extensive testing of the website’s functionality, design, and performance on various platforms, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
- Through our rigorous testing approach, we were able to identify and resolve any issues that may have impacted the website’s performance or user experience. We conducted compatibility testing to ensure the website worked seamlessly on all popular web browsers, and we also tested the website’s response time in low network connectivity scenarios.
